Washington, Aug 18 (Breaking News) — The world’s eyes are on Washington today as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived with a coalition of Europe’s top leaders to confront U.S. President Donald Trump over the future of Ukraine’s war with Russia.
Zelenskyy wasn’t alone. Leaders from the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Finland, the EU, and NATO joined him in an unprecedented show of unity. Their goal: lock in ironclad security guarantees for Ukraine, and reject any peace deal that rewards Russian aggression.
Trump, however, repeated his stance that Ukraine could “end the war almost immediately if it wants to.” He also doubled down on two controversial red lines:

In a bold move, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer pledged support for a “coalition of the willing” — even suggesting Britain could commit troops if needed. He also reaffirmed backing for Ukraine’s eventual NATO membership, directly clashing with Trump’s stance.
